Tax

João Paulo Mendes Neto is a partner in the Tax practice and works where taxation shapes business decisions: in the structure of a transaction, the cost of a reorganization, the risk of a tax assessment. His practice combines preventive advisory work, tax planning and administrative and judicial tax litigation, with an emphasis on developing tailored legal arguments for each industry.
He served as a taxpayer-appointed board member of the Administrative Council of Tax Appeals (CARF) and chaired the Special Committee on Business Law of the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB). He holds a Ph.D. from PUC-SP and is a full professor of Tax Law and coordinator of postgraduate law programs at CESUPA.
