How we work
We believe good lawyering starts with understanding the business. Before proposing a course of action, we seek to understand each client's context, challenges and goals. It is from this proximity that we build tailored legal solutions that are technically sound and connected to the reality of each company.

Our history
Since 2015, we have built a history marked by growth, constant evolution and, above all, the relationships we have developed along the way. We have grown alongside our clients, broadened our practice, brought in new talent and gathered experiences that shaped the firm we are today.

2015
Foundation
Mendes was born in Belém with a premise that still holds: to be a partner in organizations' strategic decision-making, not a supplier of one-off opinions. A small group of lawyers with solid technical training and the desire to build a firm that spoke the same language as its clients.

2017
Growing by design, not by chance
The first major structural leap came early, and not by chance: we needed a space that matched the firm we wanted to be. The new office at Quadra Corporate, in Belém, was designed for the way of working that was taking shape — multidisciplinary, integrated and close to the client. More than an address, it was the first growth decision made for the sake of the project, not the moment.

2020
First international recognition
Chambers & Partners recognized our work: the first of a series of consistent appearances in international rankings, followed by ITR World Tax and Leaders League, in which we remain listed to this day.

2022
Office expansion
Five years later, the same move was repeated on a larger scale: we took over an entire floor. The expansion kept pace with the growth of the team and the opening of new practice fronts.

2024
New partners, developed in-house
The firm's ninth anniversary was marked by the arrival of new partners, all from our own ranks and developed through our People Development Program. The move strengthened our Dispute Resolution, Corporate and Public Law practices and confirmed a choice made from day one: to grow from the inside out, recognizing those who built this journey with us.

2025
Ten years
We celebrated the milestone the way we always do: on the move. A formal celebration and MRun, a race conceived and organized by the firm, brought together our team, clients and partners — the people who crossed our path and helped build who we are.

Ten years are not a finish line. They are the foundation on which we keep the commitment that defines us: to stand alongside those who make decisions, with technical rigor, proximity and responsibility for the consequences of every choice. The next decade has already begun, and we keep writing it with those who have always been here and those who are yet to join us.
